The Upper School at Freedom Christian Academy seeks to create an environment that nurtures our students’ love of learning and love of the Lord. We build on the foundational skills covered in Lower School to enable our students in their educational journey. Our students experience high-quality academics aligned with standards, but from a curriculum that supports a Biblical worldview while building essential skills and critical thinking.

During their seven (7) class periods our Upper School students participate daily in core classes of English, mathematics, science, history, and Bible. Currently, we have two to three class sections for each core class in the Upper School. Class sizes range from 15 to 22 students on average. The remaining two (2) classes will be elective options including, technology, art, photography, journalism, band, drama, speech, PE, strength and conditioning, Spanish 1 and 2, or CJROTC. Students may have a study hall in lieu of an elective if needed. Students in good standing may serve as student aides.

Eligible students may also participate in dual enrollment courses through our partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College. Students can select college transfer courses or certificate programs. This allows High School students to begin earning college credits or obtaining job skills prior to graduation.

Many clubs and organizations are available for Upper School students. FCA Student Government Association and National Honor Society are frequently involved in leadership, citizenship, and community service. From Chess Club to Drama Club, students have many ways to become involved in campus activities.

Students participate in weekly chapel services, where they are encouraged to worship the Lord wholeheartedly and learn to apply His Word to their lives. We believe it is important to raise well-rounded citizen leaders. We further develop their discipleship through a Spiritual Emphasis Week each semester. During their time in Upper School, students will go on trips that reinforce the Biblical view of history and provide missions ministry opportunities.
