FCA offers art classes throughout a student’s school career from Kindergarten through 12th grade. AP Art is offered to high school students. Students in grades K-5 have art every week, and students in grades 6, 7 and 8 may choose art as an elective class.
Our mission is to provide art students an opportunity to express individuality through the creation of artwork. We endeavor to serve others by using our artistic talent and creative knowledge. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of hands-on long and short-term projects using both 2-D and 3-D processes, such as Drawing, Ceramics, Printmaking, Painting, Computer Graphics, and Sculpture.
Projects include the Cumberland County Fair, stage and set designs for the Christmas program, preparations for the Annual Art Jubilee, community artist opportunities, and so much more! We partake in unique art experiences that stimulate minds through hands-on activities.

FCA’s band program exists to help develop the musical gifts God has entrusted students, as well as teach them how to use those gifts to glorify God with excellence.
FCA offers 3 levels of band classes which meet every day during the instructional day: 5th-grade beginning band, intermediate band, and symphonic band (auditioned).
All bands perform a Christmas and spring concert. Instrumentalists with at least two years of playing experience may participate in FCA Patriot Pep Band during basketball season. Students in concert band have the opportunity to compete as individuals for All-District Band and UNCP Honor Band. Our symphonic band also participates as a whole in the ACSI Fine Arts Festival and competes in the Music In The Parks Festival at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, as well as community events such as the Christmas parade and playing the national anthem at a hockey game.
We are looking forward to another great year of growth in our band program!
Kindergarten-5th-grade students attend a general music class every week. In this class, students learn to read music notation, learn about orchestral instruments, play classroom instruments, sing, and move with music.
The biggest event of the year is the Christmas play. All K-5th students participate in a Christmas play, in which they share the message of Jesus’ birth. Students have the opportunity to audition for speaking/acting parts and solos.
This is a great ministry opportunity our students present the gospel to all who attend!

Drama class is offered for middle and high school students as an auditioned elective class that meets daily. Drama students are given the freedom to try new forms of theatrical expression.
Our past performances range from well-known stage plays, to expression through dance, to student-produced and directed works, to children’s plays including Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Anne of Green Gables, and The Little Mermaid.
Students are also taught to use their gifts to glorify God. We are excited to offer a wide range of theatrical diversity and welcome all skill levels and degrees of experience.
