Dress Code
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays:
- Bottoms for both gals and guys must be either khaki or navy blue cotton/polyester but they do not have to be regulation 'uniform wear' found on some labels. Nylon basketball shorts and jogging suits are not acceptable.--guys attire is shorts or pants...cargo shorts are fine.
-- gals attire is walking shorts, skirts, jumpers (length at or near the knee) plus capris and pants. - Shirts must be our Freedom uniform shirts with the patriot logo sold from our school store, or ordered from the office or our website: T-shirts (long or short-sleeve), polos, or sweatshirts/hoodies in red, white or navy blue. Shirts do not have to be tucked in, and belts are optional on pants unless pants sag...then belts are mandatory.
Wednesdays
- Freedom has chapel on Wednesdays and will offer students choices that day including dress-up or Sunday-wear as long as modest, or they can wear their uniform. No jeans or T-shirts please!!
If poor choices are consistently made in the general student body during the first semester, Wednesdays will become uniform days after the Christmas holiday.
Fridays
- Students who have kept the dress code for the week (M-TH) may wear blue jeans on Friday (-: or their uniform bottom.
- Shirts for the lower elementary will express student's good weekly behavior which children will exhibit by wearing their classroom shirts that parents will order the first week of school from their child's teacher. (for example frogs, fireflies, fish, eagles, lions) If they do not have a good behavioral week, a lower elementary student will wear his/her uniform shirt.
- Shirts for students in grades 3 and up may be either a Christian shirt, or a uniform shirt, or any other FCA shirt.
General
- No outerwear may be worn in the classroom except from the school store.
- Lower elementary (K-2nd grade) shoes must have backs. Once a student has reached the 3rd grade, he or she may wear flip flops or sandals if desired. Boots are acceptable foot apparel also.
- Gals may wear tights, socks, and leggings as long as the skirts stay at the appropriate length.
- If guys choose to wear shorts, their socks must be white or black only.
- No hats are allowed in the classroom, and earrings for gals only. Guys must be clean-shaven until their Senior year. No tattoos, but if a student transfers with one, it must be covered up.
Just a reminder...students may choose any type of book bag as long as its appearance is not offensive to the body of Christ.
Any questions on our new uniform policy may be directed to Administration
.
**Students will be given detentions for chronic disobedience of the dress code.
With this new policy, we have attempted to consider our uniform transition, budgets, and all students and their body-types. Consideration and compromise was also applied to those issues of dress that seem to be important to children and young people, recognizing we won't please everyone! We have welcomed your input this year as we have moved to a tighter yet visibly pleasing dress code, and thank you parents, in advance, for your co-operation.
